Holy Communion Lutheran Church, located on the west side of Spartanburg, South Carolina, is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). We are a small and loving congregation whose mission is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe that God sent his own Son to save the world and not to condemn it. God loves all people unconditionally and God’s arms are always stretched open wide to welcome the wandering ones home. To those seeking a spiritual home where caring, trusting relationships are formed and nurtured, part of our mission is to help one another grow deeply in God’s grace so that we can live joyfully as God’s servants in the world. If you are looking for such a community, we invite you to come and check us out on Sunday mornings at 10:00 am.
As the Spirit opens our hearts to the wonder of God's love for the world, we are nourished by Word and Sacrament, and sent to encourage others along the way. Together, God is building relationships of trust and forgiveness with each other.
We are servants of the Word. Gathered for worship, we are equipped by the Holy Spirit to be the Body of Christ in the world. We will equip and encourage each other in our lifelong journey as disciples of Jesus.
We offer our hands to prayerfully do God’s work in the world. We strive to engage the world, reflecting the light of Christ and the love of God among the least, the lost and the forgotten.
